Just about to do my first stencil on a wooden coffee table I have sanded down. Your video opened my mind (and hopefully my skills) to the many possibilities of adding my own touch instead of just a plain stencil. Wish me luck!

Mixed media is just that “mixed media”, meaning, using different types of media (art supplies) together to create a piece of artwork. If you do a painting with just watercolor paints, it is a watercolor painting. If you use watercolor paint and add acrylic paints or other supplies with it, then it is considered “mixed media”. It is that simple.

Until recently I had never heard it called Neurographic, but I had teachers assign art projects like this in grade school & my grandma had pictures like this my twin & I did in pre-school! There's nothing new under the sun!

I'm gonna try that, that's pretty cool. Hadn't thought of using my stabillo to just draw on the wet paper. Gonna try my inktense too, that should be cool.

What happens when the acrylic paints dry and peel up when you put paint over it?

Is there a difference between heat setting and just air drying? Is the heat stopping further blending of the colors or just speeding up the process?

I always think in terms of using acrylics --- but I have so many more colors of distress oxides so this is great!! And I actually like the looks better with the oxides too. Thank you for all the great ideas and inspiration!!

Beautiful ideas! As an artist, I would have put those butterflies flying in different directions. Why? Because they NEVER fly like anything else. They flit about. If you can giggle with me - they remind me of planes flying in formation :). Other than that pickiness, on my part. Everything else is gorgeous. Good job. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
